The prime minister’s package for the construction industry is a ray of hope at a time when the sector is bearing the brunt of corona virus outbreak. The president of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Mr Iftikhar Ali Malik in a statement on Monday said that the incentive package would not only give a boost to the country’s economy but will also create ample new job opportunities. “The construction sector has great potential to boost economic activities, however, due to some restrictive measures, the sector contracted 7.6% during 2019, which has caused a great loss to the economy,” he said. Shedding further light on the scheme, he said all salient features announced in the incentive package would help steer economic activities besides uplifting confidence of investors and the business community. He pointed out that government will not inquire anyone about he source of the income which would be invested in the construction sector of the country.
The business community. by and large, has lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan for announcing a big incentives package for the construction industry, providing subsidy of Rs.30 billion for the Naya Pakistan Housing Project so that people could build their dream house at an affordable cost.
